Hummus just makes life better :) don't you agree? Hummus is a chickpea-based paste that comes from the Middle East. Rich in proteins and fibre, yay!
So I won't hold you any longer with my post, here is my easy and quick recipe.
Ingredients:
400g of cooked chickpeas (from dry) or canned chickpeas, drained
2 cloves of garlic
juice of 1 lemon
1-2 tb of Olive oil
1 tsp of tahini (sesame paste) or sesame oil
Optional:
1 tb of yoghurt, light cream or a few tb of light coconut milk
salt, paprika, herbs and spices
seeds for toppings
Method:
Add garlic, lemon juice and tahini in food processor and blend until you have a creamy paste
Then add chickpeas, olive oil and any other optional toppings to the processor and blend. Wait until you get a creamy texture. Season to taste.
Tadaaaa. One batch of hummus ready to last you for the week, or maybe just a few days if your family loves hummus like mine :)
Add it to your sandwiches or wraps, as a snack with vegetable sticks or on top of your salad.
